Staying Safe Online
We sure are glad you're here! In Postopia, there are a few safety tips you should know.

While you're here in Postopia:
Pick a totally special Postopian name. Stay away from using any part of your real name, address, birthday or any other personal information.

Make your password as sneaky as you can! Use numbers and letters to make it special. Here are a few examples:
- p0pc0rn99
- heythere57
- sk8board45
- 9mountain87

Don't use your Postopian name as your password.

If you are a winner of one of our cool games, you'll need to get your parents to fill out some information before you can get your prize.

If you don't have your parents' permission, do not give out any personal information: your address, telephone number, parents' work address/telephone number or the name and location of your school.

On other web sites
While you're out there exploring the World Wide Web, here are a few tips on staying safe. This stuff isn't on Postopia, we just think it's really good information.

You should tell your parents right away if you see something that you don't like.

Ask your parents before you send someone your picture or anything else personal!

Don't respond to any messages that are mean or make you feel strange. You can tell your parents right away, and they can make sure you don't get any more.

You should talk with your parents to set up rules for being online. That way everyone gets to take turns, and you know exactly how much time you have to play around!

You should never ever ever (get the hint?) give out your Internet password to anyone (even your best friends) other than your parents.

Committed to Keeping Kids Safe Online
We want to make sure that kids have a safe, enjoyable place to spend time online. We created Postopia as a site for kids to have fun on, and for parents.

All interaction among children on the site is anonymous. There are a few scenarios where we will require contact information: (A) If you or your child request help from Post, (B) e-mail anyone from within the site (by playing and sharing activities) and (C) when redeeming prizes. To read more about it, consult our Privacy Notice.

Safety on Postopia:
Check to see that your child has chosen a Postopian name that is completely anonymous. It shouldn't contain any variation of a real name, address, birthday or any other personal information.

Review the password your child has chosen for the same information as stated in the above.

Make sure that the password isn't the same as the Postopian Name.

If your child is a prize-winner on Postopia, you will need to fill out a Permission Form to redeem it.

As a service to parents, we have provided some additional guidelines for general online safety. Postopia does not engage in any of the activities mentioned below. These are simply a few things to keep in mind when your child spends any time online:

Don't give out identifying information -- home address, school name or telephone number-- in a public message such as chat or bulletin boards, and be sure you're dealing with someone that both you and your child know and trust before giving it out via e-mail. Think carefully before revealing any personal information such as marital status or financial information. Consider using a pseudonym or unlisting your child's name if your service allows it.

Get to know the services your child uses. Find out what types of information it offers and whether there are ways for parents to block out objectionable material.

Set reasonable rules and guidelines for computer use by your children. You may want to discuss these rules and post them near the computer as a reminder. Remember to monitor their compliance with these rules, especially when it comes to the amount of time your children spend on the computer. A child or teenager's excessive use of online services or bulletin boards, especially late at night, may be a clue that there is a potential problem.

Try to make this a family activity. Consider keeping the computer in a family room rather than the child's bedroom. Get to know their "online friends" just as you get to know all of their other friends.
